The first match without Ayman father-figure Ziya Dogan was not a good one for Trabzonspor. They lost 1-0 in Kayseri, denting their championship hopes.

Gokdeniz had more than one chance in the first half to put Trabzon ahead, but it was not to be.

Kayseri's most dangerous chance came when Ayman Abdelaziz picked the ball up in the midfield and tried to pass back to his keeper. It turned into a ridiculous through ball for the opposition's strtiker but luckily he couldn't convert.

Trabzon were on top for large portions of the game but the referee didn't help in any way. Twice in one minute he deemed that Ibrahim Yattara had come in late while pressurising for the ball, and twice he incorrectly booked him though there was minimal contact. Ayman made his vire on the decision clear both to the referee and the linesman.

The Egyptian midfielder was showing some good simple passes and started some moves with decent through balls, but as Trabzon failed to test the keeper enough, they themselves conceded. It was partly due to the subsitution of Ayman off the pitch in the 70th minute, 4 minutes after Yattara's dismissal. A cross from the right saw the ball hit the crossbar, get saved and then rebounded on the third attempt! With Ayman off, there was simply nobody covering the rebound area, and a huge gap lay between defence and midfield. In the goal situation, this gave numerous Kayseri attackers completely free repeated attempts on goal from six to ten yards out without the slightest pressure from Trabzon. A goal was inevitable. It is fair to speculate that Ayman being on the pitch may have stopped this last minute winner.
