In their pursuit for a UEFA Cup finish,
Trabzon continued their excellent form since the arrival
of Egyptian rock Ayman Abdelaziz. The Pharaoh played
a superb game in the home tie against Besiktas, and
was pivotal in his side's success.
Ayman was tough in from the start, getting involved
in a scuffle while going for the ball which showed his
commitment to the game.
However, Trabzon soon went two goals down. The second
goal saw an alleged foul on a defender in the process,
and Ayman was one of two players booked for arguing
with the referee after the goal.
However, he was quick to get Trabzon back on track.
A fine through ball to the right from the Egyptian was
followed by a low cross and an eventual shot just wide.

The home fans weren't happy and began to throw objects at
the Trabzon coaching staff. The players more than responded
in the second half.
Ayman made a number of superb passes in the midfield and towards
the attack as Trabzon drew level. And near the end of the
game, Ayman marched to block and take the ball from the midfield
before anyone, drove forward, played a one-two, before receiving
the ball on the right and curling an inch perfect cross under
pressure to the feet of a team-mate, who was able to put the
ball into the goal. This was certainly the best assist made
by any Egyptian players this season.
Trabzon edge closer to Ayman's promised 4th position....
