Egyptian midfielder Ayman Abdelaziz is set to receive an offer from Trabzonspor to join them in January, with his former manager Ziya Dogan keen on linking up with him once more.

Trabzonspor have been looking for a well established central midfielder to join Huseyin in their middle-line, and manager Ziya Dogan has admitted Ayman Abdelaziz is his target.

"Ayman is the player we are looking for," revealed Dogan, who coached the Egyptian at Malatyaspor and Genclerbirligi in the past. This is not the first time he has attempted to re-unite with Abdelaziz; Dogan is the one who brought Ayman to his current club Genclerbirligi, but was sacked soon after Ayman arrived. And prior to that, during his first spell at Trabzonspor in 2004, he was very close to buying Ayman.

Trabzonspor were chasing two other central midfielders in Luis Martinez and Servet Cetin, but after these potential transfers failed, the club doesn't want to let go of Ayman.

Ayman himself has stated no objection to a transfer, and has even admitted feeling positive about a move. "I'd love to work with Ziya Dogan again," he remarked.

A move for Ayman would not have too many barriers, as the Egyptian is currently a Turkish national.

Genclerbirligi, however, have made it clear that they would like a significant fee for Abdelaziz, and not an exchange.

Gencler are enjoying good times so far this season and are fighting for a European spot. On the other hand, this has been one of the poorest campaigns in years for Trabzon, who are in the 13th spot despite excellent league finishes in the last three years.

A decision is expected by Tuesday. EgyptianPlayers.com will keep you updated...
