Ahmed Hassan's former clubs met in the Turkish Cup group stages, with Ayman Abdelaziz proving essential as Genclerbirligi ran out convincing 3-0 winners.

Egyptian midfielder Ayman Abdelaziz was possibly man of the match in this exciting affair. The Egyptian started the game well as he provided the first real chance of the match, when he played a superb long ball into the penalty area, picking out a free Mehmet Cakir. The striker, however, wasted the opportunity as his shot missed the target.

The striker more than made amends though ten minutes into the second half, when he ran onto Mehmet Nas' pass and slotted the ball coolly past keeper Runje. And five minutes later he sealed the game's fate by adding another. A clever pass from Engin was met by Cakir, who again hit the ball low and beyond reach.

A third goal came in the 64th minute; a fine nine minute spell that provided all of Alkaralar's goals.Okan took a shot which was blocked by Besiktas defender Baki Mercimek - a former Gencler player. The ball came straight back to midfielder Draman who blasted the rebound home.

In this convincing display, Gencler showed that they can keep going in the Turkish Super League too, in which they are currently 5th. Their confidence, if not the result, should make them candidates to reach the next round of the Cup.

Meanwhile, in the same Cup group, although Beshir El Tabei's Rizespor didn't play this match-day, they are struggling without a point in their three games, including a loss to lower division club Bucaspor.
