This week Genclerbirligi played against Malatyaspor in the Turkcell Super League. Ayman Abdelaziz played against his former club, as Genclerbirligi stormed to a much needed first victory of the season.

This match was very important for Gencler as they haven't won any games so far in the league and they were eliminated in the 2nd Round of the Turkish Cup. And so Gencler started very enthusiastically in this match, and scored in the first quarter of an hour, as well as the last quarter.

After the match Gencler's manager Mesut Bakkal said, "We needed this victory for me, for the board and for the fans, because we couldn't win in six weeks. We deserved a win."

The Pharaoh Ayman was very good in defence. He didn't allow any of Malatya's midfielders and strikers to do much in the final third using his fine tackles. He cut attacks when they reached the midfield.

Match Highlights:

12. min: Malatya defender Omer made a mistake from a back pass. Mehemot Cakir got to the ball before the goalkeeper and scored from a tight angle. 1-0.

19. min: Erhan met the ball after Mehmet Cakir's good pass from the right corner of the pitch. Erhan sent the ball inside to Isaac who was on the six yard box, but the goalkeeper managed to parry Isaac's point-blanc shot for a corner.

20. min: Effa got the ball inside the box but Gencler goalkeeper Omer sent the ball for a corner.

31. min: Gencler came close again as Jardler crossed from the left-hand side and Mehmet headed at the near post, but it hit the woodwork!

46. min: Ugur dribbled inside the box and passed to Isaac who struck, but the Malatya goalkeeper Bora didn't let the ball past.

66. min: Ugur shot from inside the box after he dribbled two players, but Bora saved the ball behind.

86. min: Erhan crossed from the left-hand side. Isaac met the ball and dribbled very well, before shooting from inside the area to seal a win for Gencler. 2-0.
