Superiority in the air ,defensive errors and quality of finishing made the difference in Egypt's international friendly against Argentina. After a goalless first half, Egypt got a couple of real chances to score but quality of finishing was subpar. On the other hand, Argentina took advantage of a couple of defensive errors and scored twice to end the game in a logical 0-2 win.

First half:

2nd min. Foul by Shawky on Maxi Rodrguez. The freekick was quickly taken and Gago struck the ball way over.

4th min. Foul on Zidan in a good position. The ball was delivered into the box to find Abo Treka who met it on the volley but it sailed over the bar.

6th min. Good movement and skills from Zidan awarded Egypt some possession and ended with a foul on Shawky.

8th min. Corner kick to Argentina ended with a powerful header but it went over.

9th min. Another corner kick for Argentina, the ball was headed down but went wide.

11th min. Dangerous cross into the Egyptian box, Hadary was ready to make the punch.

13th min. Zidan got the ball in a good position in the left wing, he tried to dribble past Zanetti but his try wasn't successful.

15th min. Dangerous cross into the Argentine area but Moteb couldn't reach the ball.

16th min. Hani Said prevented a real goal for Argentina. Poor defending from Shawky lead to a one on one situation, the ball was chipped over Hadary but Said headed the ball behind for a corner.

18th min. Demicells powered a header at goal but it went just wide.

20th min. Great live saving tackle by Gomaa before Zanetti.

25th min. Zidan made a superb trick to beat his marker and fired a volley shot from narrow angle but it was deflected behind for a corner.

26th min. The ball reached Zidan again, he kept the ball under possession in the box and laid it to Hassan in the right flank, the latter crossed into the box but danger was cleared.

27th min. Zizou advanced with the ball into the area but he was brought down by Mascherano and the referee awarded Egypt a freekick just outside the box.

28th min. Abo Treka tried to hit the target from the freekick but his shot was deflected behind for a corner.

30th min. Zidan got the ball and tried a shot from way out but it lacked power and placement and the goalkeeper had no problems with it.

32nd min. Dangerous challenge by Fathi , the Egyptian could be sent off but the referee was lenient was him and gave him a yellow card instead.

34th min. Mistake by Abondanzieri. He gave the ball away to Zidan and the latter tried to lob him but he managed to save Zizou's chip shot.

36th min. Zidan did well to steal the ball from Zanetti, he laid the ball to Hosny and the latter passed on the floor to Mowawad in the left wing to win a corner kick for Egypt.

42nd min. Hani Said made an important clearance to prevent a dangerous one-two pass inside the Egyptian box.

45th min. End of the first half

Summary: Superiority in the air made the difference The Egyptian team lacks the physical presence of Zaki as a target man at front. The best player so far is Zidan.
