The Egyptian team won the LG cup after a 4-2 win over Senegal. The Pharaohs performed very well in the first half which ended in a 2-1 score for the Egyptian side. However, the 2nd half was a different story as some players ran out of gas and Senegal managed to level the score which added to the confusion in the Egyptian side. Despite this, two late goals gave Egyptian the title of the friendly tournament.

The Pharaohs received an early shock as Senegal scored through a perfectly executed overhead kick just after 2 minutes from the kick off.

The Egyptian side took control of the game completely after the goal and created many chances especially through the diligent Mohamed Abdel Wahab from the left wing.

Abdel Wahab was the best player in this half as his moves and crosses from the left win put the Senegalese side under continuous pressure. The players moved well off the ball and used quick first time passing well which gave them superiority in attack.

The first Egyptian goal came through Abdel Wahab who made an excellent run from the left wing and entered the box from left before laying the ball superbly on the floor to the oncoming Hassan Mostafa who fired a direct low shot into the back of the net to make the score 1-1.

The Egyptian team added another goal after another fine assist from Abdel Wahab who whipped a cross from the left wing to find Emad Moteb who headed it home from close range to give Egypt a 2-1 lead.

In the second half, the Senegalese side didn't allow Abdel Wahab to advance from the left wing as he used to do in the first half and so, the Egyptian team couldn't create many chances. Add to this the equalizer that Senegal scored from a powerful shot which added to the confusion in the Egyptian side.

The Egyptian team made some tactical changes which helped the Pharaohs to get back into the game as the sub Amr Zaki was the one who reclaimed Egypt's lead from a superbly headed goal. Zaki also forced an own goal in the final minutes of the game to end the match in a 4-2 score.
