Despite the lacklustre
display, the Pharaohs won by two goals to nil against
a poor Mazambique side. Egyptians couldn't score but
Mozambique defender did it for them to grant them the
lead. The super sub Gedo did once again and scored a
cracker from distance to double the Pharaohs lead and
send them to the quarter finals.

The Pharaohs Advance to Quarter Finals:
The Pharaohs managed to win their game
against Mozambique in a lackluster fashion. However,
they got the job done and advanced to the knock off
stages.
The display wasn't the best though. This
might be attributed to the wet pitch and the rain which
affected the player's control on the ball. Passing wasn't
accurate, movement to the right space at the time time
didn't exist especially in the first half. The strikers
Zidan and Meteb didn't position themselves well in front
of goal. Add to this the very poor form of Hosni Abd
Rabo in midfield and the the lack of a specific role
for Shikabala.
Things improved a little in the 2nd half
as Muhammadi came on to revive the right flank while
Fathi moved to the middle to help the Egyptian side
to dominate this area.
Ahmed Eid also replaced the angry Zidan
who went straight to the bench without shaking hands
with his replacement or the coaching staff. Zidan might
feels that he sacrificed alot to play for his country
by losing his starting spot in Dortmund to Valdez who
is expected to start tomorrow in the Bundesliga clash
with Koln.

The unacceptable behavior from Zidan might cost him his place
in the national team but things are still not clear at the
time being.
The third substitution was the most efficient
one too as super sub Gedo replaced Shikabala to score from
a great volley and double the Pharaohs lead.
In brief:
Result: Egypt 2-0 Mozambique
Egypt's star players: Ahmed Hassan, Ahmed Fathy
(Man of the Match), Gedo, and Wael Gomaa.
Egypt's weakest link: Abd Rabo.
Manager rating: Shehata 7/10
