EGYPT: Hadary, Gomaa,
El Saka, Hani Said, Muhammadi, Fathy, Moawad, Hassan,
Abotreka, Meteb and Zaki.
First half:
1st min. Long ball to Meteb behind the
defense but he couldn't shoot from narrow angle.
2nd min. Yellow card for Belhadj after
a reckless challenge on Muhammadi.
3rd min. Header by Ghezal but Hadary had
no problem collecting it.
4th min. Freekick for Algeria in the Egyptian
half. El Saka cleared the danger with his head.
5th min. Foul on Hassan started a heated
argument between player but play was resumed quickly.
6th min. Corner kick to Egypt, El Saka
powered a header but it was saved by tie Algerian keeper.
7th min. Zaki won a freekick for Egypt
in the Algerian half but it came to nothing.
8th min. Belhadj tried a shot from the
edge of the box but he was under pressure and his shot
lacked both power and placement.
11th min. Abotreka tried to find Muhammadi
with a chip pass in the right flank but it went for
a throw in.
12th min. Freekick for Egypt after a tackle
on Zaki by Antar Yehya. Abotreka tried a chip into the
box to Meteb but the goalkeeper was closer to the ball.
14th min. FIRST REAL CHANCE FOR ALGERIA!
A freekick was delivered into the box, it was poorly
cleared by defense to reach Antar Yehya but his shot
was blocked by Gomaa.
16th min. Spell of pressure from Egypt
but it ended with a foul by Moawad.
17th min. Good through pass to Meteb behind
the defense but he couldn't get to the ball.
19th Algerians got more ball possession
due to their ability to play under pressure.
20th min. Belhadj managed to beat Muhammadi
from the left wing, the cross was made but Hadary collected
the ball. Ghezal tried a harmful foul on Hadary and
went away with a yellow card.
22nd min. Dangerous attacking move for
Egypt, the ball reached Moawad in the left wing, he
crossed to Zaki who tried a header but the ball came
off a defender and went ot for a corner.
24th min. Muhammadi tried a low cross
from the right wing but it was cleared by defense.
25th min. Yellow card for Gomaa for being
too apologetic after a foul.
27th min. Free kick in a dangerous position
for Algeria after a foul by Hassan on Saifi. Belhadj
tried to score from narrow angle but Hadary turned the
ball behind for a corner.
30th min. WHAT A MISS BY ABOTREKA! Zaki
laid the ball to Moawad in the left wing, the latter
crossed top Abotreka on the edge of the box, he tried
a direct shot but it went wide. A real miss for Egypt!
31st min. Freekick for Egypt in a good
position after a foul on Zaki. Ahmed Hassan ballooned
it though.
33rd min. ANOTHER CHANCE WENT BEGGING
FOR EGYPT! Abotreka sent a fine pass to Muhammadi who
struck it low from narrow angle but the goalkeeper managed
to make a fingertip save to deny him.
34th min. Treka won a freekick for Egypt
in midfield. The ball reached Moawad in the left wing
but he was in offside position.
36th min. Danger from Zayani but the ball
was cleared for a throw-in.
37th min. Meghni tried a shot from inside
the box but he sent it into the corner flag.
38th min. Freekick for Hassan after a
foul by Belhadj who is already booked but the referee
showed some leniency and give him only a warning.
40th min. GOAL FOR ALGERIA! Ahmed Hassan
gave away a freekick cheaply once more. The ball fell
behind El Saka to Antar Yehya to smash it at goal and
make the score 0-1.
42nd min. Abotreka tried a one-two pass
with Hani Said but Algerian defense cleared the danger.
43rd min. Freekick to Egypt. Hassan hit
the wall and the ball bounced back to Fathy but the
latter sent his shot well over.
45th min. Muhammadi tried a cross into
the box for Abotreka but he headed the ball wide.
