Mido and Ajax won the Amsterdam tournament
for the 2nd year in a row after the impressive 4-3 win
over Barcelona tonight. Mido scored the first goal for
Ajax and made the assist for the 2nd and the 3rd.

Details:
Mido was selected as starter for tonight's Amsterdam
tournament big game between Ajax and Barcelona. Ronald
Koeman played with 4-4-3 formation with Andy Van der
Meyde as right winger, Sikora as left winger while Mido
played as the lone striker. Van der Vaart played as
attacking midfielder to support Mido in attack.
First half report:
The game started with an early pressure from the Dutch
side in order to score an early goal. The first attempt
at goal was from Ajax central defender Christian Chivu
who sent a shot at goal but his shot lacked power and
targeting.
In the 9th min. Patrick Kluivert scored the first for
Barcelona, Saviola played a through pass to him, he
was onside and one-on-one with the keeper, he used his
skill to round the keeper and score. 1-0 for Barcelona.
11th min. A quick pass was played to Mido, he lost
the ball to De Boer though.
15th min., Ajax were about to score the equalizer,
Sikora made a cross from the left wing, Van der Vaart
rose for the header but he missed by inches though.
18th min. Chivu passed a long ball to Mido, he made
the assist with his head to Vaart, the latter failed
to control the ball and lost it to De Boer.
21st min. Saviola advanced with ball, passed the ball
to Luis Enrique in the left wing who sent the ball into
the area with one touch, but Kluivert missed the ball.
22nd min. Andy Van der Meyde moved very well into the
right wing, he passed the ball to advancing Hatem Trabelsi
who in turn sent a high cross into the box, Mido was
there but he missed the header.
24th min. Van der Meyde sent a low cross to Mido in
the area, but the defender was closer to the ball.
27th min. Sikora sent a high cross from the left wing,
Barca's defense cleared the ball for a corner.
28th min. Sikora lost the ball in midfield area, Saviola
moved with the ball and advanced to the danger zone
but Trabelsi made a crucial intervention, the referee
gave a freekick to Barca though. Mendieta striked the
freekick, the ball was deflected off the wall but the
keeper was alert and parried it away.
34th min. Mendieta advanced from the right wing, he
passed the ball to Saviola in front of goal, the latter
missed by a mile.
38th min. Superb control from Kluivert at the edge
of the area, he passed the ball to Luis Enrique in front
of goal but he was offside.
39th min. Saviola scored the 2nd for Barcelona, Frank
De Boer sent a high long ball into the area, Kluivert
headed the ball to Saviola, he took it on the volley
and scored the 2nd. 2-0 for Barca.
42nd min. Mido received the ball in midfield area,
he passed the ball directly to Sikora on the left wing
but the ball was faster than him and went for a throw-in.
45th min. End of first half.
Bottom line: Saviola-Kluivert duo was simply
unstoppable so far, on the other side, Mido alone can
do nothing as he was eclipsed by Frank De Boer. Van
der Vaart couldn't play the support man well yet.
Second half report:
46th min. MIDO CLAWED ONE BACK FOR AJAX. Van
der Vaart dribbled into the right side of the area,
passed the ball low in front of goal, Mido was there
and scored from tight angle. 1-2 for Barca.
47th min. Saviola again did it and scored, a cross
was made high into the area, Saviola met the ball with
a shot on the volley, the ball went into the corner
to make it 3-1 for Barca.
50th min. Ajax defense became very exposed now, Luis
Enrique dribbled past two defenders, sent a pass to
Cocu, the latter missed by inches.
51st min. Mido tried one with his right from the edge
of the area, but it went narrowly over the bar.
52nd min. The referee disallowed a clear goal for Barcelona
claiming that Kluivert was offside!
55th min. Sikora cut the ball and passed it to Mido,
Mido passed back to Sikora in front of goal but the
keeper was first to the ball.
57th min. Andy Van der Meyde sent a low shot at goal,
he missed by centimeters though.
59th min. Van der Vaart scored for Ajax! Trabelsi played
a throw-in to Mido, Mido headed the ball to Van der
Vaart in the area, he turned to face the goal and blasted
a shot with his left, the ball went right into the net
to make it 2-3 for Barca.
61st min. WHAT A COME BACK FOR AJAX! Mido and Van der
Vaart were involved in the equalizer, the ball dropped
dangerously in front of goal, Barca's keeper tried to
hold on the ball but Mido was faster and stole the ball
from him to find Vaart who was left with a simple finish.
3-3 now.

65th min. Ajax now in control, Van der Vaart moved
forward to play as striker with Mido and they are causing
many troubles to the Spanish giants.
74th min. Freekick for Ajax, Chivu blasted a shot,
the keeper couldn't hold on though and the ball bounced
back to Mido, he sent a shot with his left but a defender
deflected it for a corner.
76th min. Zlatan came in, Maxwell (Left defender) came
out, it seems that Ajax want to win the tournament now.
79th min. Great last second challenge from Trabelsi,
he cut the ball before Kluivert in front of goal.
81st min. Magical dribble from Van der Meyde in the
right wing, Barca's defender made a foul on him and
its a freekick now. The keeper turned it into a corner.
82nd. The corner kick was quickly taken, Mido took
it on the volley but it went over the bar.
85th min. Mido passed the ball with his head nicely
to Wamberto in the left wing, the latter made the cross
but Zlatan missed the ball.
90th min. Long ball into the area, Mido laid it very
well for Machlas (replaced Vaart), Machlas was fouled
and the referee gave a freekick in a dangerous position
for Ajax. Witschge blasted a terrific freekick and the
ball went into the back of the net. 4-3 FOR AJAX!
