Koeman: "It's all up to Mido now"

Date: 22-2-2003

Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam is what everybody is talking about in Amsterdam. The press conference before the Utrecht match was all about the Egyptian. This came after Koeman announced that he will not have Mido in his selection any more on Thursday. Koeman said, "It's a disciplinary punishment, Mido didn't follow the club rules".

Koeman spoke about Mido in the press conference

Koeman said the following:

"There are several things happened since his arrival. I didn't say good-bye to Mido but he has to improve himself. If he acts good and normal, there can always be a time when he can return. It's all up to Mido now."

A press member commented, "There aren't a lot of attackers in Ajax, only Zlatan". Koeman ruthlessly replied, "Well then we'll play without attackers, I don't care. The behavior of Mido was unacceptable."

He ended by saying something which will let Mido down a lot, "If we have to we'll play with 10 men instead of 11."

EP will keep you updated on this case, as maybe Ajax will announce what Mido actually did...its is still pretty much a mystery. Koeman won't stand for it.
