Said's Bari failed to promote
Date: 28-6-2002
Wrote: Webmaster

As EP reported before, the chances of Hany Said's AS Bari to promote from Serie B to Serie A were very slim this season. Bari was ranked 10th-12th in the Serie B table for most of the season but their recent run of good performances made them end the season in the 6th place.

6th place is not enough:

But the 6th place wasn't enough for them to be promoted to Serie A again as the top 4 clubs (Como, Modena, Reggina, and Empoli) will be promoted instead.

As a result, Bari and Hany Said will remain in Serie B in the next season. In addition to Bari, some other big name clubs won't be promoted to Serie A like Napoli (5th place) and Sampdoria (10th place).

Said still suspended:

Because of FIFA ban, Said missed all AS Bari's matches in April, May and June as his ban extended from 30th January 2002 till 30th June 2002.

Bari's May and June Serie B results:

BARI COSENZA 1-0

ANCONA BARI 3-1

BARI MESSINA 3-1

SALERNITANA BARI 2-3

BARI TERNANA 2-1
