Following the recent run of defeats of Hany Said's
Mons, the board decided to give the Italian manager
the sack.

After early October saw the sacking of
the Italian coach Sergio Brio, Hany Said's Mons appointed
a new manager.
Jos Daerden signed till the end of the season, following
negotiations with the Belgian outfit.
The 49 year old had a good record as a player in the
1950s, and played for Standard Liege among other clubs.
His son Koen Daerden is currently playing in the Belgian
League at Genk.
Daerden started coaching in 1992 with Beveren, before
leaving three years later to Lommel. Standard called
him as manager but he was only there for one season.
Lierse and Lommel were his last clubs at the top level.

Having limited top division success, he managed Eindhoven
VV in a lower division, followed by a recent assistant manager
role in rated club Genk. He was dismissed a few months back,
and will have to take his new team to Genk in his first game
as Mons man!
The Mons director confirmed that it will be a tough season
for Hany Said and his team-mates. "The objective is to
survive," he commented."When we ensure survival,
we will sit down at the table with Daerden to talk about a
contract extension."
Mons had a poor start to the season, gaining just 5 points
with 8 games gone.
This may be good news for Mons, but possibly bad for Hany
Said. Sergio Brio, a former Italian player, was sacked from
his managerial role at Mons. He may well have been the one
that recommended Hany to the club and brought him in, after
the Egyptian showed himself in the past in the Italian League.
