Heavy Loss for Hany Said

Date: 15-9-2004
Wrote: EP's reporter in Mons Antoine Bajard

Hany Said's Mons-Bergen suffered a heavy away defeat this weekend. They faced Lierse, and the home side ended the game to its favour 4-1. The loss sent them to the 15th spot.

11 minutes in, the opponents played a short corner in and it was tapped in by De Roeck to put Hany's side behind.

In the second half, the second goal was scored. Mitu gave the ball to Solari, who crossed back to Mitu, and the ball was hit on the volley to double the score to 2-0!

Said's club went 3-0 down with 15 minutes remaining. Danger man Mitu received the ball and lobbed the keeper to get his second, and Lierse's third!

Mons didn't think it was going to be even more of a disaster, but they soon conceded again! Thompson shot the ball into the net to make it a heavy four goals!

Hany Said's Mons attacked to get a consolation, and they did just before stoppage time. Babatunde scored a goal which ended the match 1-4.

The Egyptian played the full game in the midfield, but Mons were unable to control the encounter.

Mons lie in 15th place now, with just one win and two draws from their first five matches.

Mons: Van de Putte ('22 Schmidt-Vallejo), De Castro, Billy, Rabesandratana ('14 Kouyo), Said, Behi, Aliyu-Datti, Londo, Suray, Babatunde, Mirri.
