Belgian club RAEC Mons signed Hany Said just as the
season was starting, and he played his first game for
the club against Mido and Hosny's former club, Gent.

Mid-table club RAEC Mons didn't announce their signings
officially until recently, and they unveiled ten new
players, one of which was the Egyptian Hany Said.
Mons played two games without Hany, 0-0 in Sint-Truiden,
and 2-2 against Beveren.
Their last encounter was in Gent's stadium, where they
lost 1-2.
Hany Said played in a midfield role, and becomes the
only current Egyptian professional in Belgium.
Gent took an early lead as an after-corner mess fell
at the feet of Abdelmalek Cherrad who scored to make
it 1-0.
A shot from Mons striker Babatunde, who did well to
dribble past defender Vanhoyweghen, made it 1-1, just
15 minutes into the match.
Minutes later, Hany Said almost put Mons in the lead
as he curled a shot just wide of the post!
Around the hour mark, Cooreman scored for Gent to make
it 2-1 to the home side. This goal ended up being the
winner.
KAA Gent: Herpoel, Peeters, Vanhoyweghen, Laybutt, De
Coninck, Cooreman, Verschuere (90' Ndikumana), Mamouni,
Ribus (74' Vrancken), Jbari, Cherrad (82' Jarakovic).
RAEC Mons: Van de Putte, De Castro, Rabesandratana,
Mirri, Suray, Billy (61' Cortes), Said, Behi,
Londo, Babatunde, Datti.
Mons now have 2 points from three matches, and now
that Hany is settled in, we may well see more of him
in the Belgian League...
