FCK Situation Worse and Worse

Date: 19-8-2004
Wrote: EP's reporter Islam Issa

Although Hany Ramzy may be back in a month or so for FC Kaiserslautern, their situation is looking deadly as they have suffered more setbacks to their Bundesliga campaign.

Kaiser lost their opening two matches, the last an unlucky loss away to Schalke, leaving them with no points.

To add to their woes, a striker has suffered an injury while a midfielder is suspended.

Dimitrios Grammozis returned from injury not so long ago, almost the same injury as Ramzy's [in the knee], and it had kept him out for almost a year. However, upon his return he came in harshly on a Schalke player and was shown the red card. His suspension will be for three matches.

Meanwhile, Amanatidis, a bright young striker at Kaiser was injured around a week ago, just as he was about to leave to the Olympics.

The injury in his left leg meant he would miss around a quarter of the season.

The club manager Jara stated that the injury was "A heavy, heavy blow."

Commenting on the team's current situation he added, "If you are left empty-handed after two games, then it is anything other than a pleasant situation."

After the week's break in the Bundesliga, Stuttgart will be the tough opponents of FCK.

EP will bring you a report on the game, and any news on Ramzy's recovery...
