Hany Ramzy's former manager Otto Rehhagel won the
European Championship of 2004 with the Greek national
team

Rehhagel was formerly Werder Bremen manager, and introduced
Hany Ramzy to the German game in the 1994-95 season.
He had won the Cup Winners' Cup and two Bundesliga titles
with the club.
After this, the coach left to Bayern Munchen for a season,
before going to manage Kaiserslautern in the Bundesliga
II. Upon returning to the top division, he took one
man with him, as many managers do when they switch clubs.
It was indeed Hany Ramzy.
In October 2000, he left Kaiser, which left the club
in a disastrous situation, as can currently be seen.
They avoided relegation by a few points in the last
two seasons.
A much respected man for the Egyptian skipper today
became a hero in Greece. Rehhagel's defensive organisation
proved vital in the European tournament, and so it would
seem that having a "favourite student" for
such a manager would help bolster the crumbling Egyptian
defense which was seen against Benin today.
