Ramzy's FCK re-inforce squad

Date: 2-6-2004
Wrote: EP's webmaster Yasser Zohny

While Hany Ramzy is still on the way to recovery, his side FCK reinforced the squad with some good signings.

The Red Devils barely escaped relegation this season as they finished in the 15th spot. However, by looking at the names of the new signings, Hany Ramzy's side may have a much better start in the coming season.

Players-in:

Carsten Janker: The Red Devils managed to sign EX Bayern Munchen's striker Carsten Janker to replace Miroslav Klose who signed for Werder Bremen. The experienced forward will surely add strength to Kaiserslautern's attack.

Ferydoon Zandi: The Germany U-21 squad midfielder agreed terms with Hany Ramzy's FCK. The player was on top of the shortlists of many Bundesliga clubs after scoring 13 times in Bundesliga II.

Ioannis Amanatidis: The Greek international striker joined Kaiserslautern coming from the relegated side, Eintracht Frankfurt. He will play alongside Carsten Janker in the front-line.

Marco Engelhardt: Another midfielder joined from Karlsruhe.

The Red Devils also signed Croatian Mihael Mikic, youngster Jurgen Gjasula and midfielder Ferydoon Zandi.

Future transfers:

Reports suggest that Liverpool's Markus Babbel may be on his way to Kaiserslautern.

The future looks good for Ramzy:

Egyptian veteran Hany Ramzy is on the way to recovery. He already started training and he is expected to start the preseason phase starting from July. His side didn't sign big named defenders and the Egyptian will hopefully lead their back line next season.
