Ramzy selected as Kaiser lose

Date: 9-12-2002.
Wrote: EP's reporter Islam Issa

Hany Ramzy started and played a full game in the league against the giants Borussia Dortmund. The game ended 3-1, but it was good to see Ramzy back to near full fitness again.

Ramzy had the hard job of staying on Koller

Kaiserslautern found it very hard to get past the experienced keeper Lehmann. The Czech Republic international Lockvenc struck a few shots but he was kept out.

Dortmund opened the scoring after a quarter of the game, it was an own goal. Ramzy's side equalized shortly after that.

Just before the end of the half Dortmund won a penalty. The fine player Rosicky took it but he missed the goal!

In the second half RAMZY GOT INVOLVED IN THE ATTACK! Ramzy took a very powerful shot on the edge of the area. But Lehmann kept the ball out very well. Ramzy nearly scored again. This was one of the best chances of the game!

It was 1-1 until the last twenty minutes where the Brazilian Amoroso struck twice in five minutes to shock Kaiserslautern who could have easily got a point out of the game.

Bottom Line:

Ramzy is back! He played a good attacking game but he lacked concentration with his defenders near the end. Kaiserslautern will be very sad to have not got a draw out of the game. It will boost their morale though, that they performed very well.
