In the first day of Alpen-Cup,
Hany Ramzy's Kaiserslautern were demolished by the Tukish
giants Fenerbahce by 6 goals to 2.
Hany Ramzy participated in the game
as central defender together with Kaiserslautern's veteran
defender Harry Koch, but needless to say, the defense
of the Red Devils was fragile in front of Turkish forwards.
On the other side, Mido took rest today and didn't participate
in Harlem-Ajax friendly which ended 0-1 for the Amsterdammers.

Kaiserslautern's defense looked shaky
A heavy defeat for the Red devils:
Fenerbahce achieved an easy win over Kaiserslautern
in the opening game of the Alpen-Cup. The Red Devils
showed nothing special in a game which was clearly one
sided.
The Turks opened the score early in the game when Israeli
international Revivo Haim scored from a freekick in
the 15th min. Few minutes later, Ogün scored the
2nd and the 3rd for the Turks.
Kaiserslautern then clawed one back from Mario Basler's
shot, but the Turks again scored the 4th from the spot
after a foul on Revivo.
Locvenc narrowed the deficit to 2 goals in the 68th
min. but Ceyhun and Oktay scored in the 75th min. and
the 86th min. to make it 6-2 for the Turks.
Hany Ramzy played as central defender, he didn't participate
much in attack and he didn't make any fatal defensive
errors. However, the defense as a whole wasn't impressive
in that game.
Today (18-7-2002), Kaiserslautern will play for the
3rd place against UEFA cup champions, Feyenoord Rotterdam
which lost against Hamburg SV.
