Ramzy's story - The happy end
Date: 5-32002
Wrote: EP Webmaster & Omar Sherin

Hany Ramzy confirmed that he will not be suspended anymore by Kaiserslautern and he will resume training with the team today. Kaiserslautern's officials decision came after the official apology that Ramzy announced yesterday in a press conference. According to Kaiser's board decision, Ramzy will play next week against Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga.

Comments from FC Kaiserslautern's official website:

Kaiserslautern have taken back defender Hany Ramzy following an appeal from lawyers representing the woman he assaulted. “Hany will have to pay a significant amount to charity, then the matter will be closed for us,” said FCK president Jurgen Friedrich.

Ramzy was sacked by Kaiserslautern on Friday after being found guilty of sexually harassing the woman in a restaurant. He received an eight-month suspended jail term.

But the Egypt veteran pleaded for clemency, expressing his “regret” over the incident, and his unnamed 20-year-old victim subsequently supported his case with FCK.

Her plea was announced through her lawyer, who said: “Ramzy has received his punishment from court and I hope that the club will take no further sanctions against him.”
