Hassan
came on to turn the tables and convert his side's 2-1
loss to a 2-3 win. Hassan restored the balance in midfield,
created chances and almost scored near the end. He also
helped in the making of the 3rd goal as he controlled
the ball superbly on his chest in the right wing and
chipped it to Boussoufa who laid it with a great backheel
to Gillet who scored.

Hassan won the cup for Anderlecht. He
turned the result when he came on and helped the Mauves
to end the game as winner. The achievement was the best
conclusion for Hassan's fruitful career in Europe as
he already planned to return to Egypt and join Al-Ahly.
The Egyptian star came on from bench with
30 minutes left. Anderlecht were struggling at that
time and the cup title appeared to be favoring Ghent
as they were leading by two goals to one.
However, Hassan brought life to Anderlecht
midfield and attack. His first touch was outstanding,
his vision was exceptional and his passing was great.
The Egyptian came on with hunger to make an impact and
the result was two crucial goals for Anderlecht that
won them the cup title.
Anderlecht went behind early on as Foley
gave the lead for Ghent in the 6th minute. However,
the Mauves replied almost instantly through Polak who
slotted the ball home from inside the box in the 8th
minute.
In the 34th minute, Olufade scored the
2nd goal for Ghent from a low shot, the ball hit Van
Damme and changed its direction and ended into the back
of the net leaving Anderlecht goalkeeper with no chance.
Anderlecht fought back and tried to come
back into the game but it was obvious that they are
missing the playmaker Hassan.
In the 60th minute, Hassan came on and
showed his class, he put Ghent defense under constant
pressure which paid off in the 70th minute when Boussoufa
headed the ball home to make the score 2-2.
