Hassan won the cup for Anderlecht. He turned the result when he came on and helped the Mauves to end the game as winner. The achievement was the best conclusion for Hassan's fruitful career in Europe as he already planned to return to Egypt and join Al-Ahly.

The Egyptian star came on from bench with 30 minutes left. Anderlecht were struggling at that time and the cup title appeared to be favoring Ghent as they were leading by two goals to one.

However, Hassan brought life to Anderlecht midfield and attack. His first touch was outstanding, his vision was exceptional and his passing was great. The Egyptian came on with hunger to make an impact and the result was two crucial goals for Anderlecht that won them the cup title.

Anderlecht went behind early on as Foley gave the lead for Ghent in the 6th minute. However, the Mauves replied almost instantly through Polak who slotted the ball home from inside the box in the 8th minute.

In the 34th minute, Olufade scored the 2nd goal for Ghent from a low shot, the ball hit Van Damme and changed its direction and ended into the back of the net leaving Anderlecht goalkeeper with no chance.

Anderlecht fought back and tried to come back into the game but it was obvious that they are missing the playmaker Hassan.

In the 60th minute, Hassan came on and showed his class, he put Ghent defense under constant pressure which paid off in the 70th minute when Boussoufa headed the ball home to make the score 2-2.

Three minutes later a long ball was played to Hassan on the right wing, he stopped it elegantly on his chest and sent a chip Boussoufa who volleyed it back with his backheel to Gillet and the latter made no mistake and scored to win the match for Anderlecht and grant them the cup title.

Hassan got a great chance to score in stoppage time when Boussoufa crossed the ball to the Egyptian behind defense, Hassan tried a first time shot but his attempt sailed over the bar a few seconds before the final whistle.

After the referee blew his whistle, Anderlecht players were crowned as cup champions. Hassan took off his shit to reveal another shirt with "Thanks for everything and I love Anderlecht written on it" .

When asked about the shirt, Hassan said that he made it the day before the match to thank all Anderlecht fans and tell them that he will never forget them.
