Hassan recovered from injury and ready
to shine one last time for Anderlecht
Season is coming to a close in Belgium.
The league winner has been decided and Anderlecht can
only hope to win the cup.
The Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan recovered
from his injury and resumed training a couple of days
ago. He also declared that he wants to play against
Club Brugge on Saturday to say farewell to the club
home fans.
Hassan is already leaving Anderlecht at
end of season to join Al-Ahly and so, he wants his last
match at home to be a success. "Brugge can't beat
us", he said.
"I really want to win against Brugge
and show everyone that Anderlecht is the best team of
the second round", says Hassan in the Belgian paper
"Het Nieuwsblad". "We are playing at
home and there is more speed in our team. In my opinion,
we were even better than Standard."
Hassan also added that he wants to leave
Anderlecht as cup winners. "If I have to choose
between the second place or the Cup, I choose both!
I want to thank our supporters with a prize".
Hassan didn't play much for Anderlecht since the African Cup
of Nations as the coach Ariel Jacobs started using the Egyptian
as substitute. However, the Egyptian star refused to blame
his coach and said:
"The coach, Arïël Jacobs, has
to think about next season. When I was playing in the Africa
Cup, the team was playing well without me. I understand that
it is difficult for Jacobs to change the team".
Hassan also has a player in mind who would be
perfect to replace him next season. "There are a lot
of good players will different qualities. But there is one
player who really steps out: Sasha Iakovenko. I hope Anderlecht
is patient with him, because he is a player with a lot of
talent."
It should be noted that Anderlecht will face
Gent in cup final in the last match this season.
