Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan arrived late from a short
trip to Tunisia in which he played a friendly. Despite
arriving late, the Egyptian will be included in the
Mauves squad for tonight's match against Ghent.
Speaking about his late arrival, Anderlecht
manager said:
'From Ahmed Hassan, we have no news! "said
Ariel Jacobs on yesterday.
"I am also not concerned about," says the
coach.
"We had given Hassan the permission
for an unofficial match to play, but I didn't have him
in training this morning. We shall see what we will
do when he shows up."
Hassan travelled to Tunisia after the cup-match against
Germinal Beerschot for a retirement festival match of
Tunisian international Zoubeir Baya.
The Tunisian veteran played together with Hassan in
Turkey and He asked the Egyptian star to play in his
retirement festival.
Zoubeir Baya and Hassan's team lost 3-7 but to a team
that includes Georges Weah and Frank De Boer. The Pharaoh
of Anderlecht played 27 minutes.
It seems that arriving late is becoming a habit for
Hassan as he was fined 20.000 EUROs for arriving late
from Egypt after the Africa Cup.
"What I will do if Hassan shows up morning ? I
do not know, ' said Jacobs.
"I am not sure if there will be a disciplinary decision
against Hassan or not as all my concentration now is focused
on the Ghent match".
On the other hand, Manager Herman van Holsbeeck confirmed
that Hassan will be handed a fine, but added that it won't
be a big one.
'Hassan had to be on the training as we had agreed with him,
"says Van Holsbeeck.
"He was not there and therefore it is too late. According
to the club-rules he gets a penalty. That will not be so much
as after the Africa Cup, but still a serious decision."
It should be noted that on Wednesday, Hassan will participate
in the international friendly match against Argentina in Cairo.
It is also worth mentioning that Anderlect are willing to
offer Hassan a new contract, but the rumors say that Hassan
is negotiating with the Egyptian top-club Al Ahly and accoring
to these rumors, the Egyptian will will sign a three-year
contract before the end of March.
