Egyptian
star Ahmed Hassan started for Anderlecht the first time
since the African Nations Cup in their away match versus
Charleroi. The Egyptian scored from a long range effort
in the first half and almost added the 2nd from another
shot but it was denied by the keeper. The Egyptian excelled
in the game and made two great key passes in the 2nd
half but Anderlecht forwards couldn't take advantage
of them.
Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan silenced all
his critics and replied to his coach Ariel Jacobs through
his performance on the pitch.
The Egyptian was criticized lately and
his manager claimed that Hassan is not on top form and
so, he didn't start with the Egyptian since his return
from the ACN.
However, With the injury of Serhat Pareja
and suspension of Biglia, Vlcek, and De Man, the coach
had to bring Hassan back to main selection in the match
versus Charleroi.
The Egyptian started the game on the left
side, but he appeared often on the right as well.
Hassan opened scoring at the 28th minute from a powerful
shot from the edge of the penalty area. The Egyptian
almost scored a 2nd goal from another long range effort
but the goalkeeper managed to parry it this time.
Hassan played also a role in the 2nd goal
as he sent the ball on the floor to Gillet who crossed
it to Boussouffa in front of goal and the latter scored
from a diving header to make the score 0-2.
In the 2nd half, Hassan continued to impress and sent a magical
pass from the right wing to Pieroni who was left with a simple
finish but the latter squandered the chance.
Minutes later, Hassan sent another great through
pass but his teammates couldn't convert.
With this win, Anderlecht became 4th in the
table. The Mauves will also face Germinal Beerschot this week
in the Belgian cup and with such great form, Hassan will likely
play from the start in this game as well.
