Anderlecht qualified, now Ahmed Hassan's club made it to the semi-final of the Belgian Cup after they tied with Dender 1-1 in the second leg of the quarter final. This was the side Sherif Ekramy rejected a move to in the winter window. The big incident was the national team captain's questioning of a fellow player's efforts and he even asked to be taken off.

Anderlecht scored their goal through Bart Goor in the 17th minute, though Dender equalized in the last minute of the game .

Hassan played from the beginning with Anderlecht for the first time since his return from Egypt after the African Cup of Nations, and also played the full game.

Anderlecht won the first leg against Dender 3-0, and so qualified with an aggregate score of 4-1.

There was an incident between Hassan and Chatelle, in which the Egyptian was very angry with the team-mate, and even slammed the team in the dressing room for their performance.

Anderlecht coach Ariel Jacobs gave a positive spin on this incident, saying: "I think it is just good that there are several leaders who stand up for the team. It was a collective response towards players who want to go off track," he said.

Hassan was so angry that he asked to be replaced, while Jacobs had used all three substitution.

Anderlecht are now concentrating on the Cup after their situation in the league is too hard to defend their title.

Anderlecht will face G. Beerschot on the semi-final , the the two games will be on the 19th of March and the 16th of April.
