Ahmed Hassan's Anderlecht faced AaB in an away UEFA cup encounter. Hassan has been training solo since his injury in the league match versus Westerlo but he started in the game and did well in the first half which ended gol-less. On the other hand, Spurs won their away game in the same group by two goals to nil against Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Hassan's Anderlecht managed to remain on top of Group G after their 1-1 away draw with the Danish side AaB Aalborg on Thursday night.

Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played the game from the start and was taken off in the 82nd minute. The Egyptian was doubtful for the game because of the minor injury that he suffered in the league match versus Westerlo. However, the Egyptian managed to play and showed a solid performance.

Despite training solo in the past few days, Hassan looked in a very good shape in the game as he played the playmaker role and did well.

The first half ended goal-less and both goals came in the 2nd half. Anderlecht scored first in the 59th minute through Jakobsen who sent the ball into his own net since he failed to clear the ball from his six yards box after a corner kick from the left wing which was swung into the area.

In the 86th minute and after the exit of Hassan who came off in the 82nd minute, the homeside managed to level the score through Lindström who fired the ball into the roof of the net from close range to end the game in a 1-1 draw.

For sure, Anderlecht would be much happier with a win but a draw isn't a poor result either as the Mauves played their game away from home. The draw put them ahead of Tottenham on top of the group with 4 points while Spurs came 2nd with 3 points after their 0-2 away win over the Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, Getafe were rested this round but they still have the best result in the group stage as they defeated Spurs on their home stadium a couple of weeks ago and for the time being, they occupy the 3rd spot in the group.

It should be noted that Anderlecht will not play the next round in the group stage but instead, they will have a match to watch on the 6th of December as they face Hossam Ghaly's Tottenham at home.
