Hassan's Anderlecht did the unexpected and qualified
to UEFA cup group stage despite their poor result in
the home first leg where they drew 1-1. The Mauves won
by a single goal in the 2nd leg through Serhat Akin
in the first half and managed to defend their lead.
Hassan played the full match and showed a solid display.
After a series of poor displays and results, Anderlecht
finally managed to achieve a good result as they beat
Rapid Vien at their home and qualified to the UEFA cup
group stage after winning 2-1 on aggregate.
In the first leg match, Anderlecht conceded a late
goal from a freekick and the match ended in a 1-1 draw
which meant that Anderlecht will have to beat their
opponents in Austria in order to advance to the next
round.
Hassan's side got the job done and won by a single
goal as Serhat Akin cleverly slotted the ball home in
the 24th minute after a fine cross from the right wing.
Anderlecht were the better side throughout the game
and Hassan played an excellent match in midfield. The
Egyptian and his teammates controlled the midfield with
their strong tackling and fighting for every ball.
Hassan in particular shone in tackling as he made many successful
tackles to win the ball cleanly from Rapid Vien players, he
also linked very well with his teammates and his distribution
with excellent.
The Mauves had more desire and quality to win than their
opponents who couldn't take advantage from their away draw
and the game ended in a 0-1 defeat for the Austrian side which
meant their exit from the competition.
