Hassan
and his teammates at Anderlecht managed to rescue a
point from Genk in their big away clash with last season's
runners up. Genk scored in the 78th minute but just
three minutes before the final whistle, Serhat Akin
leveled the score again to end the game in a 1-1 tie.
Ahmed Hassan's Anderlecht came back home with a good
result from their away clash with Racing Genk in the
Belgian Jupiler League. Hassan's side made a late come
back into the game after conceding a goal in the 78th
minute but they managed to level the score in the 87th
minute and the big clash ended in a 1-1 draw.
Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played the whole match and
was a solid performer throughout the game. The Egyptian
linked well with his teammates and created some chances.
He also had a couple of decent attempts on goal but
he wasn't lucky enough to score.
Both of the two goals came in the 2nd half of the game.
Genk scored first from a fine volley shot from the edge
of the box in the 78th minute while Anderlecht came
back into the game after nine minutes through Serhat
Akin who received a through pass inside the box and
buried the ball home from close range.
The draw put Anderlecht in the top spot in the table despite
their latest lackluster performances which resulted in the
club fans ask the board to sack the current coach Verchauteren.
It should be noted that Anderlecht are on the verge of UEFA
cup exit after a poor display versus Rapid Vienna last Wednesday
in which the Mauves failed to win and conceded a late goal
to end the match in a 1-1 result.
More soon on Hassan and Anderlecht...
