Hassan participated in Anderlecht's 1-2 away win over
Mouscron. The home side scored an early goal but Anderlecht
leveled the score quickly. The game almost ended in
a draw but Van Damme managed to score the late winner
to grant the Mauves the top spot in the table.
Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played a full match for Anderlecht
versus Mouscron this weekend. The away match ended in
a 1-2 win for Hassan's side who scored a late winner
to claim the top of the Belgian Jupiler league.
Anderlecht didn't have the best start as they conceded
an early goal after 4 minutes from the kick off which
came through Custovic.
However, the away side came back into the game in the
15th minute through Von Schlebrügge.
In the 87th minute, central defender Van Damme scored
the late winner for the Mauves to end the game in a
1-2 win.
Despite the win, Anderlecht are currently suffering
from lack of forwards. The problem will be more obvious
in the coming games especially after the departure of
last season's top scorer Mohamed Tchite who left the
team just before the closure of transfer window.
Tchite is now gone and the Argentinean striker Frutos
is suffering from a long term injury and not expected
to be back soon.
To add to the dilemma, Ahmed Hassan himself might not start
in some of the coming games because of fasting in Ramadan as
Verchauteren preferred not to start with him during Ramadan
last season.
The Egyptian also was quoted saying that he needs some rest
as he feels tired after playing many games for the Mauves
in the past month.
So, it is certain that Anderlecht will lose alot of their
firepower in the coming month because of these reasons and
it is yet to be seen if they can remain on top or not.
