Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan kicked off the new season tonight with an away clash with Mechelen. The Egptian helped his side emerge victorious as the Mauves won 0-1 in the dying moments of the game.

Ahmed Hassan kicked off the new season with a win. Vctory didn't come easy as the only goal in the game came in the last minute of the game through Wasilewski who jumped together with Hassan in the air and managed to head the ball home to give the Mauves victory in the first match of the season.

Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played the full match which was totally controlled by Anderlecht. However, the chances weren't many.

mongst the few chances that Anderlecht got to score was a header from Mbo Mpenza but it went just wide.

In the 2nd half, Anderlecht got another chance through Boussoufa but the goalkeeper parried his shot away.

Apart from this, Anderlecht didn't get many clear chances but in the end, they got the job done and returned home with the match points.

It should be noted that Ahmed Haassan's Anderlecht will face Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the Champions League. They will need to win in order to advance to the group stages.
