Anderlecht won against Standard this weekend while their rivals for the top spot, Racing Genk lost their away match against Gwrminal by two goals to one.

As a result, Ahmed Hassan's Anderlecht became 1st in the table and they can now win the league if they remained ahead after the remaining six games.

Ahmed Hassan played the match from the start and played a good game despite the poor show from both sides in that match.

Hassan received alot of praise from the club manager Van Holsbeeck after the match:

"The victory was deserved," concluded a satisfied manager. "The defense was solid. Hassan played an excellent game but we have several players that can decide a match."

The manager continued his praise for the Egyptian by saying:

"Hassan not only elevates the level of the team, but also that of the Belgian competition and we will try to keep him here."

"We now have nine points more than Standard. If we lose second place we don't deserve the Champions League.

It is clear that Anderlecht officials will save no effort to keep the Egyptian in Belgium but it will be Hassan who is yet to decide his future in the coming days/weeks.
