EgyptianPlayers.com has learnt that Galatasaray's interest
in Ahmed Hassan has re-ignited after the player's Belgian
club issued him with an ultimatum. The Egyptian has
until the 8th of May to make his final decision.
Reports have suggested that Cairo club
Al-Ahly have agreed terms with the Egypt captain, but
EP can confirm that this has not taken place. It is
also expected that Zamalek will enter the race, though
it must be noted that these negotiations are not legal
within FIFA's rules. A club should not
negotiate with a player until given permission to do
so - something Al-Ahly are completely ignoring in their
business dealings.
Anderlecht warned Ahmed Hassan that he must decide
his future in Belgium. The club manager Herman van Holsbeck
said that Hassan told them that he wants to leave.
He added: "We await his last decision. He has
one month to decide."
He continued: "If he confirms to leave we will
look for a new player for his position. The new player
will probably be from South America.
"Ahmed Hassan is one of the best transfers of Anderlecht
but he must be quick to decide his future at the club."
Hassan showed his protest in the away match at Lierse after
he was taken off by the manager, but the problem has been
played down.
Now, it is thought that Galatasaray are back in the race
to sign Hassan. The Egyptian had previously expressed his
desire to return to Istanbul, and Gala are keen to sign him.
If Hassan, as expected, confirms his will to leave, Gala
will most likely be making an offer.
