After his fine hat-trick against Charleroi,
Anderlecht manager Van Holsbeeck says he will do everything
they can to make sure Ahmed Hassan is still at the club
next season.
Ahmed Hassan had spoken of a desire to return to Egypt,
something he has been considering for a few seasons.
With a move to the English Premiership - Hassan's dream
at one point - looking unlikely, the national team captain
may call it a day in Europe and head home.
However, Van Holsbeeck assures the club faithful that
it will not be an easy decision for Hassan.
"Even if there's a small chance he will stay,
we will do everything we can to keep him," said
the manager, who has organised a meeting with Hassan
in which they will discuss the future.
"If he misses his family, perhaps we can take measures
to bring them over," he is quoted as adding on Anderlecht
Online.
He was also full of praise for the Egyptian. "Hassan
is a typical Anderlecht player. He takes a lot of risks and
is not afraid to make an individual action.
"On top of that, he's a real professional. He's not
a typical lazy playmaker who's only of use for the team when
he has the ball. He does a lot of work when the team doesn't
have possession as well."
