Hassan's Anderlecht Waste Two points at Liege

Ahmed Hassan and his teammates couldn't defeat Standard at Liege and Genk are now ahead of them by five pounts.

Anderlecht faced Standard Liege on Sunday in an away encounter in the Belgian Jupiter League. The game ended in a goal less draw. The two valuable poits that Anderlecht lost in the game made the difference between them and the table leaders, Racing Genk five points after 11 weeks.

Egyptian midfielder Hassan played the full match that witnessed a few chances for him and his teammates. However, the Mauves couldn't score any goals and instead, they were under much pressure from the home side who created more chances and forced Anderlecht to play in their own half most of the time.

Hassan created a chance to Vanden Borre in the 25th minute but the latter missed. The Egyptian also had a chance to score a few minutes later but he sent his shot just wide.

In the 37th minute, Boussoufa scored a goal for the guests but it was ruled out for offside.


With this draw, Anderlecht (24 points) remained 2nd in the table after Racing Genk (29 points).
