Anderlecht lost their first Champions League match on Tuesday as they suffered a 0-1 defeat at the hands of the experienced AC Milan.

The match started with pressure from the Mauves but they couldn't create real danger. On the other side, Milan started to have more possession and to cause more danger later on. Most of the danger came through Inzaghi who almost scored in 2-3 occasions.

Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan started the game on bench as his coach asked him to break his fasting on match days in order to play in the month of Ramadan. The Egyptian refused and so, his coach put him on the subs bench at start.

Early on in the 2nd half, Milan's Bonera was excluded by referee after receiving a 2nd yellow card and Anderlecht took advantage of the extra man and tried to push forward more. However, a fast counter attack resulted in an unexpected goal for the guests as Kaka used his skill to fire a shit from outside the box into the tope corner to give AC Milan the lead.

In the 69th minute, the Mauves coach decided to bring Hassan on to help the homeside to get back into the game. Hassan was brilliant in the 20 minutes that he played and caused a headache for Milan defenders with his crosses into the box.

The Egyptian also held the ball well in midfield and had a couple of attempts on goal, the first went just over the crossbar while the 2nd was denied by Dida.

Hassan also played a freekick in the final minutes that could result in the equalizer. The Egyptian crossed the ball to Roland Juhaszo who headed the ball at the bar, the ball came back to play to find the sub Ibrahim Akin who headed it again at goal but this time Dida punched it away.
