EXCLUSIVE:
Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan finally negotiated
with the Belgian side Anderlecht after Besiktas' board
cancelled calling him back. Hassan didn't wait any longer
and went to Belgium as he had promised the Anderlecht
officials. EP have also spoken to the player's agent
to get his comments.
EP learnt the transfer months ago from
the Egyptian in an exclusive
interview and the world media heard the news from
EgyptianPlayers.com.
Anderlecht made an official press statement and stated
that they will make a press conference with the player
present this Wednesday. Ahmed Hassan was also presented
to the purple and black supporters on the club's official
web site.
Ahmed Hassan had hopes of staying at Besiktas until
the last moment but after Murat Aksu's statements about
him, he changed his mind and signed for his new club.
EP can confirm that his manager Jean Tigana didn't want
him to stay in the team due to his footballing style
in which he apparently plays as he wishes. Contract
details will be clear on the Wednesday the 24th of May
too.
Hassan welcomed by Anderlecht officials
upon arrival in Brussels...
EgyptianPlayers.com called Ahmed Hassan's agent Alper Gokdemir
and congratulated the experienced agent on the deal. Gokdemir
thanked EP and commented: "Hassan will be successful
at his new club."
He added: "Hassan will sign a two year contract with
a possible one year extension."
It is strongly expected that Ahmed Hassan will play as an
attacking midfielder behind Turkish striker Serhat Akin, Frenchman
Gregory Pujol and Belgian Mbo Mpenza. Hassan transferred to
the Belgian outfit in the place of their legendary playmaker,
Swedish international Par Zetterberg who retired last month.
The Anderlecht manager was especially pleased with Hassan's
performance on the right wing when scouting him.
