Besiktas manager Jean Tigana started his transfers
for the new season. The coach has signed Baki Mercimek
from Genclerbirligi's defence and Fahri Tatan from Rize
for the wing back positions. Besiktas sold the Guinean
forward Youla to Lille for €1.6 million after he
finished his loan with Metz.
Transfer news about a new foreigner came,
namely one from Swiss outfit Basel. Argentine star Matias
Delgado who is 1.81 metres tall and twenty-six years
old may be on his way to Besiktas. It has been reported
by Turkish media that Besiktas finally negotiated his
fee with Basel and will await the new star in Istanbul
in the coming next days.
On the other side, Tigana told Turkish paper Sabah
his comments about selling Ahmed Hassan and others.
Tigana said that the board want him to have a younger
team and revealed his opinion on Hassan, remarking:
"He is a very talented player at 31 years old.
However, he was playing as he wants on the pitch.
"Hassan always thought of going to Europe anyway,"
he added.
Jean Tigana also said that he'll buy Delgado and that he thinks
the player will be useful next season. The French manager
promised more transfers in the coming weeks.
