This time, both sides played in the Turkish cup quarter finals. Besiktas had a relatively easir job than their opponents as they won the first leg with two goals to nil.

Despite this, qualification didn't come easy for Ahmed Hassan's side as Kayseri managed to score a goal in the 2nd half and were close to score the equalizer despite playing with ten men starting from the 60th minute due to the sending off of Arslan after receiving a second yellow card.

Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played the game from the start and showed an overall good performance thanks to his moves and passes. However, the French coach Jean Tigana decided to replace the Egyptian with Tumer Metin in the 55th minute.

After Hassan's exit, Kayseri's Arslan received a 2nd yellow card and was sent off. Despite this, the homeside managed to score a goal through Mohamed Hanifi who scored from a well placed header.

After the goal, Kayseri kept attacking and Besiktas played more defensive till the final whsitle.

With this result, Besiktas will go through on aggregate to the semi final.
