Ahmed Hassan made one assist in the game and he earnt the
admiration of Tigana along with Gokhan Gulec, Okan Buruk and
Kleberson. The new youngsters from the youth team also got
a chance in the game. Tigana stated that he'll stay in Istanbul
next year and will set a successful young team...
Near the end of the first half, Ahmed Hassan got a bouncing
ball on the left, and from a tight angle fired a half-volley
on the turn but it went wide across the face of the goal.
Minutes later, he hit a superb strike from outside the box
which went right into the corner of the net. But the whistle
had already gone as Ibrahim Uzulmez, who passed to Hassan,
was fouled. Maksic stood no chance of saving the Egyptian's
shot though.
Besiktas had gone into the lead in the 20th minute, before
Dogan hit past his keeper in the 21st minute.
Two second half goals from Gokhan decided the game. The first
was a shot from distance after cutting in, while the first
was an easy finish after good work from the Brazilian Bobo.
