After the sacking of Del Bosque, Besiktas have completed
negotiations with their ex captain, Riza Calimbay to
lead the troubled side for 18 months. The
young and successful manager was commanding Denizli
before Caykur Rizespor. He was the current manager of
the Egyptian duo of Rize; Ahmed Salah Hosny and Bashir
el Tabei as well.

Riza Calimbay had a clause in his contract which states,
"The manager can only leave Rizespor if he can
take an offer from Besiktas". The young coach knows
the team, league and problems of Besiktas closer and
has enough potential to carry the team to success with
his ambition.
The Besiktas board gave the management of the team
to Calimbay. They wanted to sign a Turkish manager so
as not to live an adaptation problem with a foreigner
in these hard times..

Calimbay signing will be an open door for Bashir el Tabei's
move to Besiktas too. The experienced defender was selected
as one of the two centre backs in the best foreigner eleven
for the first half of the season. Tabei may be a cure for
the poor Besiktas defence.
EP will follow the next developments at Besiktas....
