Hassan and Ragab shine in Derby!

Date: 6-12-2004
Wrote: EP's reporter in Istanbul Ali AVCI

The Eagles of Istanbul, beat the Bulls, with ten players and again with the outstanding performances of Ahmed Hassan and "the hero" Tumer Metin.

Hassan was one of the men of the match...

Ahmed Hassan played ninety minutes while Ramadan Ragab was substituted in the 81st minute.

Hassan scored the opener via the assist of Tumer and assisted the winning goal himself to Tumer! Istanbul's goal came after a red card situation. The referee gave a wrong decision after Ramadan Ragab threw himself to the ground. Ibrahim Toraman was sent off because of the last man rule but the Egyptian striker of Istanbulspor was extremely clever for his side and managed to fool the referee. The foul was clearly made by Ramadan and Besiktas stayed with ten players from then, again due to bad refereeing.

The match was played in silence and with the absence of supporters. Besiktas have a three match supporter ban and the first one passed with three points.

Supporters put roses on their seats before the match.

Vicente Del Bosque put Hassan as striker for the first time and the Egyptian scored an early goal, until the sending off of Toraman. After the score became 1-1, Hassan played as a right winger. John Carew couldn't play because of his injury and Pancu was suspended. Del Bosque started the match with Ibrahim Akin and Ahmed Hassan as the forward duo. Tumer was their supporter and Sergen found himself on the bench again. Kaan Dobra, Cordoba, Ronaldo and Veysel are some of the players that are in the transfer rumours. The players still couldn't find chance to be in the first team squad yet again.

A red card again and a superb Tumer Metin again. Ahmed Hassan also starred in the ninety minutes with his goal and assist.
