25.000 Dortmund Supporters cheered Mohamed Zidan as
his name appeared on the scoreboard as the Man of the
Match. The 27 year old striker spoke to Ruhr nachrichten
after the match revealing his delight with win and fine
performance.
Dortmund striker won the Man of the Match
award following his impressive display on Sunday afternoon
in the home clash between Dortmund and Bochum.
While he didn't appear on the score sheet,
Zidan was the source of all dangerous attacks for Dortmund.
He moved everywhere on the field, and even contributed
in defense. Zidan looked like a different player in
the eyes of Dortmund fans.
The Egyptian wasn't troubled by Algerian
international centre back Antar Yehia as his silky movements
and passes caused Yehia's side all sorts of problems
throughout the 68 minutes he played.
Speaking to Ruhr
nachrichten, Zidan said:
"It was a surprise
for me to know that I was selected as the Man of the Match.
25.000 supporters shouted my name when it appeared on the
score board as the Man of Match. It made my spine tingles".
"I am delighted with
the win, and I am more delighted with the treatment of the
Dortmund fans". He added.
Speaking on the upcoming
match versus Algeria in World Cup quals, Zidan said:
"It is a dream for
every player to be at World Cup. I want to help Egypt
qualify and I can't wait to play in this match".
The newspaper also added that Zidan is starting
to be a fan favorite after his impressive displays this season.
