Zidan played from the start for Dortmund in their home
clash with Bochum. Zidan excelled in his new role as
a support man as he was the man of the match despite
the fact that he didn't score. Zizou created numerous
chances to his teammates and was involved in the making
of the goals. He also threatened the target more than
once.
Dortmund achieved an impressive 2-0 home
with over Bochum this afternoon. Zidan played from the
start in his new position as a support man behind the
two strikers Barrios and Valdez.
Zidan was clearly the man of the match
in today's game as he led attacks well, his control
was exceptional and so was his passing. The 27 year
old Egyptian international created several chances to
his teammates in attack and was the source of danger
for Dortmund when the ball came to his possession.
Zidan didn't threat the goal by himself
much because of of his new position on the field. He
had a couple of efforts on goal though. The first chance
came in the first half when he blazed a shot over the
bar from the edge of the box while his second chance
came in the 2nd half when he took the ball past one
of the centre backs and fired a low shot at goal but
it went just wide.
His creativity was great though as he intercepted a pass which
led to the first goal which came in the 20th minute. Zidan
moved quickly with the ball and laid it to Kuba on the right
who crossed it to Barris, the latter controlled the ball well
on his chest and buried it home with his right to give Dortmund
the deserved lead.
The second goal came through the centre back
Subotec who headed home from a freekick to secure Dortmund's
lead.
In the 78th minute, Klopp decided to take Zidan
off the lead in order to give him some rest, the player headed
to the bench while being applauded by the whole stadium after
his fine performance.
