Dortmund
managed to end their recent run of poor results today
as they came back home from their away clash with Monchengladbach
with precious three points. Argentine striker Barrios
started alongisde Zidan in the game and scored the only
goal of the game in the 38th minute. Zidan wasn't at
his best in the game and came off in the second half
to make way for Kuba.
Dortmund returned to winning way this
afternoon after their away win over Gladbach by a singe
goal.
The only goal in the game came through
the Argentine striker Barrios from a powerful shot with
his left in the 38th minute.
Both Zidan and Barrios started at front
but their team couldn't create much in the first half.
In the second half, gameplay improved and Dortmund managed
to create more chances. However, they couldn't convert.
Zidan wasn't at his best today. He wasn't
mobile enough and didn't create chances for himself
like he always do. His only real chance came in the
2nd half when he sent a shot from close range with his
right foot but it went over the bar.
After Zizou came off, Valdez and Kuba came on
and Dortmund looked in a much better shape. Valdez had a golden
chance to secure the lead for Dortmund from a one on one situation
with the keeper but he sent the ball into the keeper's body
who was able to block it twice.
With this win, Dortmund became 12th in the table
while Gladbach became 15th. On the other hand, Mainz managed
to win their home clash with Hoffenheim today by two goals
to one to become 5th.
