National team staff tried to reach the player via his cell
phone but the player had his mobile phone closed and so, Shehata
decided to exclude him from his short term plans.
According to Shawky Gharib, the assistant manager
of the Egyptian national team, the NT staff contacted Zizou's
club asking for clarification regarding his absense since
all the attempts to reach the player via his phone numbers
failed. Gharib said:
"They (Borussia Dortmund officials) informed
us that Zidan is having an injury, this is why he didn't travel
to Egypt".
"It is clear now that he has a valid reason
beyond his absence but we are still unhappy about the player's
behavior which lacks professionalism".
"A professional player won't be unreachable
at the time of international duties. We should be able to
reach him but he kept all his mobile phones closed".
He added.
Despite this behaviour from Zizou, it is yet
to be seen iof the player will be punished or not.
