Zidan scored the 3rd goal for Dortmund in their away
DFB Pokal match versus SpVgg Weiden. Zidan scored his
goal in the last minute of the game to end the match
in a 1-3 win and send Dortmund to the 32 round of cup.
Zidan's goal came through a nice touch by Zizou who
played a one-two pass, faced the keeper, round him,
and scored in the end.
The excellent form of Mohamed Zidan in
the preseason continued in the first official match
as Zizou managed to score the 3rd goal for Dortmund
in the cup match versus 4th
division side SpVgg Weiden.
Zidan didn't start the game, but he on
in the 64th minute to replace Valdez. Zizou managed
to make a positive impact in the few minutes he played.
Zidan forced the home side player Schrepel to foul him
in the 86th minute and the result was a 2nd yellow card
for the player. This gave advantage to Dortmund as it
exposed SpVgg
Weiden
defense and enabled Zidan to score the 3rd goal from
an one-on-one situation.
Zidan's goal came in the last minute of
the game when he received the ball elegantly and sent
it with one touch to a teammate who sent it back to
Zizou who raced clear behind the defense, faced the
keeper, round him with a clever touch and slided it
home.
Not only this, but Zidan had two attempts on goal rather than
his goal. The first from a shot which was blocked by defense
and another shot that was denied by the keeper.
Next Saturday, Zidan and Dortmund will kick
off the Bundesliga new season with a match versus Koln.
