Zidan played from the start and showed good co-operation with Nelson Valdez. The Paaguayan fired a low shot at goal in the 15th minute, the goalkeeper pushed it away to find Zidan who was left with a simple finish but his final touch was poor as it went into the goalkeeper's body.

In the 23rd minute, Zidan and Valdez made a nice double passing that could have created a good chance but Hoffenheim's left-back intercepted it.

In the 68th minute Valdez came off fand was replaced by Alexander Frei , and later in the 86th minute Zidan came off as Kullmann replaced him.
