In an interview with Al-Beit Beitak on Egyptian TV, Egypt's striker Mohamed Zidan revealed many things related to his relation with coaches, his career and future.

Speaking about his problems with his coach at HSV, Huub Stevens, Zidan revealed:

"It was a mistake from my side as when I sat with Huub Stevens before signing for HSV, he asked me not to participate in the African Cup of Nations. This is because Hamburg have many African players and if everyone left for the ACN, the club will be in trouble".

"I knew I would have problems with him because of this but I wanted to go there so I decided to join Hamburg despite having offers from around nine other clubs".

"After winning the ACN, I returned to Hamburg and he (Stevens) wanted me to forget everything about the competition. If you win a major trophy, you can't simply forget that after 48 hours!".

On the short spell that he spent at HSV under Martin Jol reign he said:

"I said to myself that I can have a fresh start when Martin Jol became the new manager. I did well in the preseason and scored a fine goal versus Real Madrid in the Emirates Cup. But I was a bit concerned as Jol was the coach of Mido and Hossam Ghaly at Spurs and things didn't go well for them there".

"When I heard of Dortmund offer, I was delighted that I will be able to play for them as the coach (Jurgen Klopp) believes in me and the club is very well suppported".

"The stadium in Dortmund is simply great and the crowd is incredible. I remember when I played for Mainz at this stadium we won a penalty kick and I had to take it. The crowd started shouting and as I ran towards the ball, I felt their shouts pushing me back and I missed the penalty kick. It was the first penalty kick that I missed since I started playing in Germany".

On Egyptian coach Hassan Shehata, Zidan added:

"I have phoned Shehata and he told me that I am an important player in the national team and that they need me in the coming period. I apologized for the misunderstanding that happened last June and I am now ready to help the Egyptian national team in the upcoming World Cup qualifications".

When asked about his future and whether he has plans to join a Spanish club in the future or not, Zidan said:

"It is true that the Spanish league suits me better but I will have to start from scratch there. In Germany, I spent four years there and I speak German fluently. I made a name for myself in the Bundesliga and I am not the type of players who like to move from one country to the other in a shot period of time".

"Spanish League is still my dream, but I want to join the likes of Real Madrid or Valencia. I won't go there to play for a struggling team as I am playing for a big team in the Bundesliga".
