"When I heard of Dortmund offer, I was delighted that
I will be able to play for them as the coach (Jurgen Klopp)
believes in me and the club is very well suppported".
"The stadium in Dortmund is simply great
and the crowd is incredible. I remember when I played for
Mainz at this stadium we won a penalty kick and I had to take
it. The crowd started shouting and as I ran towards the ball,
I felt their shouts pushing me back and I missed the penalty
kick. It was the first penalty kick that I missed since I
started playing in Germany".
On Egyptian coach Hassan Shehata, Zidan added:
"I have phoned Shehata and he told me that
I am an important player in the national team and that they
need me in the coming period. I apologized for the misunderstanding
that happened last June and I am now ready to help the Egyptian
national team in the upcoming World Cup qualifications".
When asked about his future and whether he has
plans to join a Spanish club in the future or not, Zidan said:
"It is true that the Spanish league suits
me better but I will have to start from scratch there. In
Germany, I spent four years there and I speak German fluently.
I made a name for myself in the Bundesliga and I am not the
type of players who like to move from one country to the other
in a shot period of time".
"Spanish League is still my dream, but
I want to join the likes of Real Madrid or Valencia. I won't
go there to play for a struggling team as I am playing for
a big team in the Bundesliga".
