Mohamed Zidan scored a great volley goal for Dortmund to give his side the lead in their home clash with Gladbach. Zizou who just turned 27 controlled the ball on his chest and rifled a great volley from the edge of the box into the back of the net to make the score 1-0 for Dortmund.

Right after the goal, Zizou's teammate Hajnal was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. Despite this, Dortmund were able to extend their lead in the 2nd half through Nuri Shahin.

The 2nd goal also came through a fine pass from Zidan to Kuba who found Shahin inside the box with a low pass and the latter made no mistake and buried the ball into the bottom corner.

Ten minutes before the final whistle, the substitute Van Den Bergh scored from a scorcher with his left that went straight into the top corner to make the final score 2-1.

With this score, Dortmund ended the first half of season in the 6th spot in the table while Gladbach remained rock bottom. It should be noted that the winter break will start in Germany after this week end matches and will last till end of January.

Today, Zidan was fantastic. He did every thing possible to help his side in the game. He scored a great goal with special talent. He also was involved in the making of the 2nd goal and took play to Gladbach. His close control, and flick ons were top notch and he linked up very well with his teammates. With this performance, Zidan is the undisputed man of the match.

Zidan succeeded today to make the 80 thousands who attended the game happy. He proved to them that he can make the difference in tight matches like today's game. The Egyptian came off with four minutes left and was applauded by the supporters.
